Spiritual Accompaniment

Sometimes we just need to be heard.

Spiritual accompaniment is a long-standing part of being human. It’s nothing more than the art of holding loving, spacious attention with a person as they listen to their soul and cultivate that what it means to be human.

As your accompanist, I’ll help you have conversations with your deeper self. We’ll explore your sorrows and joys, survey the places you are experiencing connection and alienation, and attend to the subtle shifts of spiritual terrain as your life unfolds toward fullness and destiny.

As I listen compassionately and non-judgmentally, I may encourage you with gentle suggestions or needful challenges to explore parts of your soul that appear to need care and nurture.

Spiritual accompaniment is not only helpful for deepening your own spiritual life and connectedness to the Divine. It’s also helpful for discerning matters of vocation and call, especially when brought into conversation with astrology and the wisdom of your wise and well ancestors.

What qualifies you to offer spiritual accompaniment?
I have been accompanying people spiritually since college, and this work is a major part of my vocation as a pastor in a local church setting. My seminary coursework and Clinical Pastoral Education proved essential parts of my formation, but the heart of this skill has come from nearly two decades of listening to people as they move through life’s summits and valleys. Years of contemplative practice have helped me to carve out holy spaciousness in my own being for you to step into.

How can I work with you?
I offer this gift on a pay-what-you-can basis. The sustainable value of this time is $108 per hour. I look forward to helping you listen to your soul’s stirrings.
